Diamond School of Dance Proudly Presents
"Building a Home"
May 24-30, 2021
DSD’s Spring Recital is the highlight of the season for hundreds of kids, a chance to shine in front of their family and friends that is anticipated with so much excitement! DSD’s Spring Recital offers our students a professionally directed performance that allows them to perform for their families and friends showcasing the results of a year of hard work, dedication, and progress.
An exciting part of the dance training process, learning through performance provides your dancers with so much! The experience helps build self-esteem and confidence. Onstage experience can also result in better school presentations, improved social skills, and strong interview skills for future college or job opportunities. Participating in performances helps children develop retention skills, teamwork, and adaptability.
We’re going to have a GREAT show and we look forward to sharing it with you!

RECITAL ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
Parents should bring their children to the backstage area (Richmond- Lower Level Ballroom). Our staff will direct them to their assigned dressing space where they will be checked in and placed under the supervision of their Backstage Volunteer(s) and/or teachers for the length of the performance. Dressing areas will be stocked with various activities to keep the dancers engaged. After the finale, dancers will be available for pick up in their dressing rooms.
PEANUT FREE: Please do not bring snacks containing peanuts to the theatre as dancers may have peanut allergies. Thank you for protecting our dancers!
HAIR & MAKEUP
Stage lights are very bright and can wash out features. In order to see every dancer’s sparkling eyes and smile, girls wear makeup for the Spring Recital: red-tone lipstick, blush, eye shadow, and mascara. For the boys, a little blush works well.
Uniform hairstyles are also required. All recreational dancers will wear their hair in a high bun on top of their head. Hair should be pulled back neatly and tightly and sprayed with plenty of hairspray to keep it in place and prevent wispy hairs. Competitive team dancers will wear their hair in a middle part low bun for all performances/dances.
TIGHTS & SHOES:
Stop by Premier Dancewear during our Office Hours to purchase your dancers tights and shoes.
Recreational Class Tights For Recital:
Ballet: Ballet Pink Tights
Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater: Tan tights
Hip-Hop, Lyrical and Contemporary: No tights
We are looking forward to celebrating a wonderful Spring Recital with YOU!
