Dear DSD Family,
Do you know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words? Then seeing your kids dance their hearts out on stage this last week was worth a BILLION words! Our hearts are still singing by what was accomplished together this last week.
THANK YOU parents for your support over this past year. Thank you for believing that we could deliver on the promise we made when we reopened last June - a promise to be an anchor in the storm for your kids and a promise to deliver a safe season including a spring performance.
As we enter our 22nd season of "More Than Just Great Dancing!®" this week, we are more energized and committed to our mission of helping parents raise GREAT kids who reach their full potential in life through dance, mentorship and community! Let's go, Season 22!
What a JOY it is to celebrate our dancers on stage again! One year ago we celebrated DSD’s 20th anniversary with 500 individual performances, one family at a time, and hundreds of online recital celebrations in living rooms across the community. We asked our team of teachers to do the impossible - to build a digital dance studio in a week over our spring break, teach 200+ classes per week online and figure out how to finish our 20th season strong. AND, THEY DID.
We asked parents for their commitment to finish last season strong and their faith to sign up for this season simply trusting that we would continue to do the right thing by community health and continue to innovate to provide safe service to the kids. AND, YOU DID.
We asked the students to learn in new ways—dancing via livestream, taking classes on spots spaced apart and with face coverings AND, THEY DID.
So as we mark the end of a season that was built on top of greatest challenges we have ever faced as a dance family, we wanted to pause and say THANK YOU!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Thank you for doing what was necessary and sticking with us through what seemed impossible. Thank you for believing in both the importance of our programs in your kids' lives and in our ability to lead well through it all.
We are still here because of YOU and the importance of that is not lost on us as we celebrate our dancers on stage today!
As we look back to where we were one year ago and watch our dancers proudly shine on stage it is with tears of great gratitude that we say, "THANK YOU!”.
Miss Alicia and the entire DSD team
CARE AND AWARENESS
We continue to follow the More Than Just Great Dancing!® Safer Studio Guidelines which prioritize a hierarchy of safety and wellness measures including:
To prioritize everyone’s health and well-being as we return, we have a few important procedures in place, which are listed below. We all must remember that the protective measures we establish are, for a variety of reasons, unlikely to be practiced perfectly by young children, especially in an active environment. It is of extreme importance then that ALL adults—staff and parents alike—must be willing to adopt our protocols, monitor their health and their family’s health, and seek COVID-19 testing and isolation promptly if they suspect infection.
SAFER STUDIO PLANS
Our studio will focus on four key and realistic components to keep kids happy, healthy, and safe in their dance lessons this summer.
Before arriving at the studio, parents are required to screen their children for symptoms related to COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses, and children are not permitted to attend if any symptoms are present.
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
We ask that parents not drop off more than 5 minutes early or pick up late and if students must wait between classes that they be taught to maintain a proper social distance to conduct friendly conversations. Masks are optional for all parents and students. Teachers will ask to hand sanitize the class coming in and out and ample sanitizer will be distributed around the facility. Please have your child bring a water bottle with them.
A PEEK INSIDE THE DANCE CLASSROOMS
Our staff are required to self-screen for the symptoms related to COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses, and are not permitted to work if any symptoms are present. Staff will be maintaining proper hygiene such as hand washing when they enter the building. If a staff member or student becomes ill, displays symptoms, or looks/acts unwell while on the studio premises, they will be isolated and sent home as soon as possible. DSD staff will be taking the attendance of everyone on the premises each day to assist in any contact tracing, should it be necessary.
If you have any questions about our Safer Studio Summer Plan please feel free to email us at email@example.com or call us at 715-577-1285.
Together we will continue to keep kids happy, healthy and safe as we grow together this summer!
