Destin, Florida - July 1, 2023 - Diamond School of Dance (DSD) is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of its competitive teams at the Mark of Excellence National Talent competition held in Destin, Florida. DSD's dedication to helping children achieve their full potential in life and dance has once again been validated by the remarkable achievements of its talented dancers.

This year DSD's season theme was "Elevate". Elevated excellence, commitment, passion and teamwork. It was incredible to see the hard work and dedication elevated on the national stage! DSD's Junior High Performance Company and Senior High Performance Company teams captured the national title and highest scoring routine on the prestigious national stage. The Junior team's lyrical group routine, "The Hill," secured the 1st overall position, while the Senior team's contemporary routine, "Impending Doom of the Heart," clinched the top spot in their respective categories.

Notably, Maya and Ava Finn, a dynamic sister duo, claimed 1st overall in the teen duo/trio division, earning the coveted title of national champions. Furthermore, Lily Knopps triumphed in the Mini solo division, taking home the national title and being crowned national solo master.

The remarkable achievements of the dancers were not the only cause for celebration. Angelina Arroyo, DSD's competitive director and lead choreographer, received well-deserved recognition for her outstanding work, as she was awarded "Best Choreography" for the breathtaking routine "Patterns" on the national stage.

The journey was not solely about hard work and performances. DSD's owner, Alicia Knopps, shared "We had an incredible week not only working hard rehearsing and performing but also making forever memories with our team. We will never forget all the memories! That is what it is all about. Being a part of a team like this is like being family. The studio is a second home to our dancers and this experience only brought us all closer."
